The Outbox

The Outbox tab in Messages is a record of everything your school has sent, not just what you’ve written by hand. Alongside messages staff composed from the Inbox, it includes emails Kanri sends automatically, like payment receipts, staff invites, and document-signing links, and every broadcast you’ve sent, with its own delivery progress.

  1. Go to Messages and open the Outbox tab.
  2. Use the search box to find something by recipient.
  3. Use the All / Messages / System filter to narrow the list: Messages shows only things staff composed, System shows only automatic emails.
  4. Select an entry from the list to see it on the right.

A broadcast, or a bulk send to several individually-selected members, shows up as its own entry in the list (labeled Broadcast or Group), alongside individual emails, rather than one row per recipient.

Selecting a broadcast or bulk-send entry shows:

  • Its overall progress, how many recipients have been processed out of the total
  • A preview of the message that was sent (placeholders show as their raw form, like {{member.first_name}}, not the substituted value, since a broadcast doesn’t have one single recipient)
  • A list of every recipient, their delivery status, and a link to that recipient’s own copy of the message

Selecting View details from the send-progress modal right after sending a broadcast takes you straight to that broadcast’s entry here.

If you scheduled a broadcast to send later, its entry shows Scheduled for the date and time you chose, with a Cancel Scheduled Broadcast button. Cancelling stops it from sending, it’s the only way to stop a scheduled broadcast once you’ve confirmed the send.
