Member Number

Every member in Kanri has a member number — a unique numeric code they can use to sign in at your school’s kiosk.

A member number is a short numeric ID, up to 6 digits (for example, 483920), that uniquely identifies a member within your school.

Member numbers exist so members have a quick, reliable way to sign in at the kiosk. Instead of typing their full name, they can enter their number — which is faster and avoids issues with name spellings. Members can also search by first name if they prefer.

Kanri automatically generates a unique member number when a new member profile is created. You don’t need to do anything — the number is assigned instantly.

Member numbers are random within the 0–999,999 range and are unique within your school. No two active members will have the same number.

The member number is always visible in the member’s profile header, displayed as:

First Last - [number]

For example: Marcus Webb - 120483

You’ll also see the number in the member overview cards and at the top of each sub-page (Attendance, Notes, Interactions, etc.).

At the kiosk sign-in screen, members are prompted to “Search by your first name”. The on-screen keyboard includes both letters and numbers. A member can either:

  • Type their first name — the kiosk shows all members whose first or full name starts with those letters.
  • Type their member number — the kiosk looks up the member with that exact number.

Results appear as a list showing each matching member’s full name and their number (for example, “Marcus Webb - 120483”). The member taps their name, then taps Next to proceed to class selection.

Only members with an active membership appear in the kiosk search results.

If a member forgets their number, they can still sign in by searching their first name.
