Search and Filter Members
The Members list has a set of filters that let you narrow down exactly who you’re looking for. You can combine multiple filters at once.
Finding a member
Section titled “Finding a member”Go to Members in the main navigation. The filter bar is at the top of the list.
Search by name: Type in the First Name or Last Name fields. The search matches from the beginning of the name — for example, searching “che” will find “Chen” but not “Atcheson”.
Search by member number: Enter the number in the Number field. Useful if you know the number but are unsure of the spelling of their name.
Search by age: Enter a number in the Age field to find members of a specific age.
Showing inactive members
Section titled “Showing inactive members”By default, the Members list shows only profiles that have at least one active membership. Leads, contacts, and inactive members are hidden unless you ask to see them.
To see everyone, check the Show inactive checkbox in the filter bar.
Filtering by member type
Section titled “Filtering by member type”The Members list can contain students, leads, contacts, and staff. Use the Member Type dropdown to filter to a specific type:
| Type | Shows |
|---|---|
| All | Everyone in the database (subject to other filters) |
| Member | Active students with a membership or subscription |
| Lead | Prospective students not yet enrolled |
| Contact | Parents, guardians, and associated people |
| Staff | People with a staff role in Kanri |
See Members overview for a full explanation of member types.
Additional filters (full access)
Section titled “Additional filters (full access)”Staff with the View Members (Full) permission can also filter by:
- Phone — search by the start of a phone number (for example, entering “416” finds all profiles whose phone number starts with 416).
- Quit since — shows members who had an active membership but became inactive on or after the date you enter. Useful for identifying members who have recently quit.
- Created since — shows members who were first given an active membership on or after the date you enter. Useful for identifying new members who joined recently.
Sorting the list
Section titled “Sorting the list”Click a column header to sort by that column. Click again to reverse the sort direction.
You can sort by:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Last Attendance — when the member last attended a confirmed class
Exporting the list
Section titled “Exporting the list”To export the current filtered list as a CSV file, click the Download icon at the top of the table. The export includes the same data shown in the table, with the same filters applied.
Why a member might not appear
Section titled “Why a member might not appear”If you’re searching for someone and can’t find them:
- They have no active membership. Check the Show inactive box to include all profiles.
- The name is spelled differently. Try searching just the first letter or two of their first or last name to cast a wider net.
- They were added under a different name. Try searching by phone number instead. Note that this filter requires the View Members (Full) permission.
- Their profile was deleted. Deleted profiles cannot be recovered from the Members list.
