View and Manage Leads

Leads are stored as member profiles in Kanri, with their type set to Lead. There is no separate leads pipeline screen. Instead, you use the Members list with the Member Type filter to view and work with your leads.

  1. Go to Members in the main navigation.
  2. Check Show inactive in the filter bar — leads do not have active memberships, so they are hidden by default.
  3. Open the Member Type dropdown and select Lead.

The list now shows only your leads. You can combine this with the name, age, or phone filters to narrow down further.

Each lead has a status that shows where they are in your follow-up process:

StatusMeaning
NewJust added — no one has followed up yet.
ContactedSomeone from your school has reached out.
QualifiedThe lead is interested and likely to join.
TrialAutomatically set when the lead is given a trial subscription.
ConvertedSet when the lead signs up as a paying member.
LostNo longer interested.

The lead status is visible on the member’s profile when the Lead section is shown. To update it, open the member’s profile and click Edit.

You can contact a lead directly from their member profile:

  • Click the member’s name to open their profile.
  • Go to the Messages tab to send an email or SMS.
  • Use the Notes tab to record follow-up notes for your team.
  • Use the Interactions tab to log calls, incidents, or other events.

A lead converts automatically when you give them an active membership or subscription. Kanri updates their member type from Lead to Member at that point.

To convert a lead:

  1. Open the lead’s profile.
  2. Go to the Memberships tab and assign a membership.
  3. If they are paying, go to the Subscriptions tab and create a subscription.

Once an active membership exists, the profile type changes to Member and the lead disappears from the Lead filter.
