What is Kanri?

Kanri is a school management platform built for martial arts dojos, dance studios, gymnastics clubs, swim schools, and any other activity-based school. It handles your members, classes, schedules, billing, and communication in one place, with no technical experience needed.

Before diving in, we recommend reading How It All Fits Together. It explains how the key concepts in Kanri connect to each other, which makes every other page much easier to follow.

If you’re setting up Kanri for the first time, start with the Getting Started guide. If you already know what you’re looking for, use the search bar at the top of the sidebar or browse the sections below.

Members is your student database. Add members, track contact details, keep notes, view attendance history, and manage enrolments and billing all from one place.

Programs are the activities you offer, like “Adult Karate” or “Junior Ballet”. Programs contain classes and an optional belt or level system. Members are enrolled into programs via Memberships.

Schedules is your class timetable. Create recurring schedules, take attendance, and (on Professional and Enterprise plans) let members book into sessions in advance.

Billing lets you create billing plans and prices, attach subscriptions to members, and collect payments automatically. It also covers payouts, payment history, and help with failed or disputed payments.

Messages lets you send email or SMS to one member or a whole group, from scratch or using saved templates.

Groups lets you organise members into named collections to make broadcasting and targeting easier.

Reports helps you understand what’s happening at your school: attendance trends, revenue, who’s ready for promotion, who hasn’t been in lately, and more.

Gallery lets you upload photos, videos, and files for the whole school or for individual members.

Kiosk is a self-check-in screen for your front desk. Members find their name or enter their number and sign themselves into class.

Lead Management (Professional & Enterprise) is a public page where prospective members can submit their details, book a trial class, and sign a waiver. Leads are tracked inside Kanri and can be converted into full member profiles with one click.

Member Portal is what members see when they log in themselves: their profile, upcoming bookings, membership details, and payment history.

Audit Log (Professional & Enterprise) is a permanent, tamper-proof record of every action taken at your school.

Settings is where you configure your school’s branding, staff roles, notification behaviours, message templates, and more.
